This container was inspired by summertime berry picking in the MN wilderness. Four hand sculpted blueberries and a leaf rest on an arched twig acting as a handle to this small lidded container. This piece is lined in a semi matte blue glaze, the same glaze is carefully added to each plump berry. My favorite clay to use is a Porcelain/stoneware mix. The plasticity of the porcelain enables high detail sculpting while the iron in the stoneware reacts well with the atmospheric firings, creating waves of earthy color tones.
